I replaced the screen on the stock stereo. I am not Convinced the screen I installed is good. But thought I would ask if there is a potentiometer specific to the screen brightness.
Situation: Screen was only half visible. But the have that was visible was nice and bright. I received a screen only that came with the car when I bought it. Replaced. Now I can use a flashlight shine it direcly at the screen and can see and I can see the screen. This is due to the fact that is is extremely dim. My first thought is the screen I received screen and I need to try a known good screen from a stereo with some other issue. If someone has one I would be willing to pay a small amount to get it.
BUT, if there is a known potentieometer that controls the screen brightness maybe I can make it work.
Thanks, Gordon
I need a new digital display if anyone has one. Thanks
I have the exact radio you’re after in good condition - lost the code for it - PM me.
The display in those radios is illuminated by light bulbs that have started to burn out by now. I am working on finding a way to replace the bulbs for these displays as well as the old car phones and early heated seat switches (they all appear to use the same bulb).
On a side note, if you are missing the code for one of these radios, take it down to the dealer and ask them for the code, they should give it to you for free. They charge if they have to remove the radio from the car themselves.
