I have a 08 E88 128i. I only have one key for it. Any suggestions on the most cost effective way to get another one?

Go to the dealer. Suck it up and pay what they ask for a new key.
Bring your photo ID, and proof of ownership, such as registration or title.

Go to www.realoem.com
and enter the last 7 characters of the car’s vehicle identification number. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Find the part number for the key. Google “BMW dealership parts departments.” Ask the parr’s folks for their prices.
Got mine at bimmernav online store. works perfectly. $311.00. I have a 2010 135i.
