is there any way to enable (by coding) seat belt warning on e39? my seatbelt light just turns on and off for a brief moment when I switch the ignition on. I don't want it to turn off unless I fasten my seat belt.
Just making a guess here - and could be way off base, but... could a previous owner have bypassed the wires going to the latch? I'm probably oversimplifying here, but to better explain my point... If there are two wires going into the latch, that get 'connected together' when the seatbelt gets inserted, then maybe someone joined those two wires together to trick the computer into thinking the seatbelt is inserted. That way they could drive without a seatbelt on... remember... some previous owners are not that smart! I would imagine the initial idiot light you see is simply a 'test' of all the lights.
Again, I could be wrong! Just throwing out an idea.
I think it can be programmed with NCS Expert + Dummy in the KMB (Kombi / Pinnacle / Instrument Cluster).
Look for they word "GURT".
anyone else?
can someone direct me on how to code it with ncs expert if it's possible?
Check out the BMW coding boards to learn how to code.

I've seen that before but that doesn't specifically show seat belt warning.
well, I need to figure it out myself I guess...
its in the LCM coding or the SRS coding
lcm does chimes SRS does some of the lights
I like to pretend I know stuff
