Hi all, did some 800 km on my new 320d (90% extra-urban, 10% city) and only got 5.7 - 5.8 l/100 km. Specs say it could be as low as 3.8 l/100 km extra-urban. Are these figures total scam? Like it is 35% difference.vidmate mobdroI was driving in eco pro mode not faster than 120 km/h (average speed about 70 km/h on this 800 km stint) and engine rpm lower than 3500 according to break-in instructions. I was pretty economical, start-stop always on, no hard accelerations, engine braking where possible, etc

My M3 turbo gets about 16.5 l/100km daily driving and about 45 l/100km on the track. Your diesel is doing pretty good. I would never expect a car to reach the advertised mpg numbers. Marketing is all about how to present a lie that the public will accept.
New engines won’t be at their peak efficiency until broken in.
