I’ve got a 95 530 with a m60b40 out of a 94 540, got done doing some head work recently(replaced a burnt exhaust valve) and ever since it has idled at about 1000rpms. I suspected it was a vacuum leak so I hooked a smoke machine up to it and didn’t find any vacuum leaks, after that I decided to try and swap the iac from my 3.0 over to it to see if maybe I had a faulty iac, first startup with that iac it stumbled for a second but then went back to idle at about 600 where it was normally at before. Next morning I start it up to leave for work and it’s back idling at about 1000 again. Decided to see what it would do if I unplugged the iac and it goes down to idle at about 600 with it unplugged. To me it seams like it’s compensating for a load that isn’t there. Any one had a similar problem or might know where I should look next?
I keep posting on here and solving my own problems not even an hour later😂, but if anyone comes across this with the same problem my fix ended up being I had the secondary tps and the primary tps connectors flopped so the dme thought I was wot all the time🤦🏻*♂️

I had the same sort of issue last year. My idle would sit around 1100 rpm and it seemed the throttle on my M30 was sticking a little. A little lubing and it all returned to normal, sometimes the simplest fixes are the best fixes.
