Hi there can anybody help me please as i recently just brought a bmw 318l 2002 and i noticed when i was checking underneath the car i noticed a lot of build up of oil from underneath the main engine section i did clean it all up and looked to see if i could see any oil leak but with no joy. Could you possibly advise me if possible where i actually look to see if i got oil leak.
And also to inform you the car is running normally there no burning smell what you normally get with a oil leak also car as no warning lights showing also no engine management light is showing car runs and drives and i am a little what baffled to why i had to clean loads of oil up and clean the engine has well if anybody could help or advise i be very grateful in indeed. Many thanks for your time in reading my post Clive

Any reason why on making the text so large? I have to admit I am a bit up in the years, and it makes it a little bit easier to read.
So if you cleaned off the whole engine, and still not seeing any oil leaks, I would say it had been fixed, but not cleaned afterwards. Just keep an eye on any leaks that may form.
