Upper strut mount guide pin ?

The china knock off strut mounts i got off of ebay, are a perfect example of you get what you pay for, they are the German part saver mounts, they fit on the struts just fine, but the 3 small studs on top, are a little off, would have to file a hole or two for fitment, not hacking up my roady for a cheap ass chink part, so ill spring for an OEM mount, but the OEM mounts have an extra guide pin, the old mounts that came off didnt have the guide pin, though my strut towers do have the extra hole, whats the deal with the guide pin?

Unscrew it from the mount. It's not needed and often in the wrong location for our cars.

Thanks for the response, but ok cool, yeah man, im kinda still new with BMWs, only had mine a few years, still got more questions than answers lol.

The were used to establish the original alignment when new but must be removed the first time the car is realigned
