    98’ 528i Jack Point Rust

Hello everyone. Does anyone know if the jack locations on an e39 are reparable at a body shop? I’ve heard it’s common for them to rust and collapse, rendering them useless along with the rust spreading. But has anyone ever had them fixed and for how much? Just out of curiosity. Thank you.

They are fixable $$ is the magic tool. There are guys on the UK bmw sites that have invested in fixing them. The rears?

A friend of mine back in MA had both rear sides fixed, $2K.
He brought it to a body shop that knew how to do it. I saw his car after it was fixed, couldn't tell it was ever repaired.

Yes both rears and one front. One in the back collapsed completely, and the other two I hear creaking when lifting so I choose not too. But the rust is evident. And would you happen to have a link for them? And yea lmao money always seems to be it.

Really? And by them knowing how to do it is it like a specialized job? But nice. I just want to know whether or not it’s fixable so I don’t keep throwing parts at my car and then have it collapse on me one day lol. Hopefully not.

I had just finished doing the guides on his engine a few months earlier.
Once you head down the rabbit hole it's hard to stop.

Young23, not really a specialized shop, just one that does good welding and body work.
