Hi All,
I have an '86 635csi that has been sitting in my driveway for a while. When I started it, fuel started leaking from a hose somewhere towards the firewall on the left side of the engine bay. For some reason I just cannot locate the leak! Does someone have a fuel like diagram for this car so I can locate what fuel lines are where?
Much appreciated!
Dan
The fuel lines run up the passenger side, and a rubber line comes up to the fuel rail (at least on my M635). That was the source of my recent leak.
It's probably worth going through and replacing all of the fuel lines. I missed the one I mentioned when I did it the first time. I also just did the lines from the in-tank pump down to the main fuel pump and filter. That's a bit of a PITA, but still worth it.
The hard (metal) fuel lines end on the drivers side firewall. Hard to see cause they are down under the brake bomb tucked back in the corner. From there the rubber hoses run up to the fuel rail and pressure regulator. If you locate the junction and replace the hoses don't forget the hose from the center of the fuel rail to the cold start valve.

George, my thought exactly...the hose to the CS valve................the worst one to deal with IMO

Let me chime in hear, it is one of the worst fixes a real PITA.
Since I was replacing with a new one, I chiseled the old one off to gain
easier access to the bolts. Then I used allens to bolt that sucker back on.
The curved allen key made it fairly easy to tighten up the allen bolts.
I'm with George, no way I'm taking that intake off.
