Damage from airbag recall

Has anyone who has e -90 m sport steering wheel or M steering wheel had any damage due to airbag change. I have heard that the back of the steering wheel will peel or bubble after the holes for the airbag are breached. I would think it happens in more humid climates, but I have seen this kind of damage before as I live in Florida.
