I have a 1998 e38 (740iL).
Car was garaged all winter and after replacing battery, two warning lamps on my instrument cluster display - Parking Brake On and DSC Light On. The check engine light is not on and there are no codes that display on my Creatdor C301+ scanner.
Car runs fine and there is no resistance to roll when parking brake off yet Parking Brake dash light remains on.
Pressing and holding the DSC button has no effect in clearing the DSC dash light.
The brake fluid resevoir shows brake fluid at the max line.
I have DIS, INPA and all cabling but am a novice at its use. I am hoping someone might shed some light on how to proceed to clear these lights.
Thanks,
Try setting the parking brake, releasing it and then while still holding the release lever, pull up slightly on the pedal. Mine doesn't return the pedal the last 1/4" or so, leading to the light being on (but no brake drag) unless I pull up on the pedal.
May just be a wheel speed sensor. INPA should pin it down.
I tried lifting the park break pedal with my foot while in drive but the park brake light reamins on.

All four wheel speed sensors register positive movement in INPA.
Don't judge the brake fluid level by looking on the outside fill line. Remove the cap and filter screen and peek inside. I've run into that issue before and it was always the fluid even when it looked full from the outside
