2012 328i convertible switch giving me red light faults when trying to lower. If I stress the switch slightly differently it corrects. No problems going back up. Anyone else have this switch go bad?
Working on the 325 reminds me how much I LOVED my old Jeep Wrangler. A bus ate it.
I've not seen anything similar with mine.
What you describe sounds like it is a two stage switch to open, with the first engaging the light, then the second starting the open sequence.
It's not this way though. The light comes on, then after approx 1~ second, the open sequence begins.
Perhaps it's slightly faulty and it engages, then disengages, then engages, and when you pull harder on it, the 'open' signal remains constant.
Walking through my own thoughts there, if it's as I describe, it must be an poor contact inside the switch.
Test with the key-fob to ensure it doesn't behave similarly.
Let us know the resolution.
Thanks. Still new to the e93. How do I use the key fob to raise it lower the top?
In my 2008, N54, E93;
Close proximity to the car
Doors closed, Trunk set ready for dropping the hard-top
Press and Hold the 'unlock' button, after 1-2 seconds the sequence will start
I have to keep my finger on the unlock button until complete.
Lock, following the same sequence will close it.
I have to be within 5' of the car to do it.
I've heard of some where you press unlock 4 times and it opens by itself. Mine does not do this.
Thanks I'll give it a try when I get home.
