So im currently looking for a m20 to swap into my 318i euro spec, i plan on stroking it and putting a nice size turbo on her. Should i stick to the m20b25 or could i use the 2.7 eta?

In 1988 BMW created the Super Eta …2.7L, special pistons, the “I” head and engine management.
You could run the standard Eta 2.7L block and pistons, with “I” head and engine management. This combination would have lower compression, perfect for Turbo application.

So if i snagged a 2.7 i could swap the 2.5i head on or is there a 2.7i head? Or would it be a smarter move to go with a s5x swap im looking to get 500-600 hp would that be possible with. 2.9 stroker and a 6262 turbo? Cause i do know that parts for the s5x setup get expensive fast.
If you are looking for that kind of power I would consider an M52, these are plentiful and inexpensive. You will have to open it up to drop static compression for turbo application.
‘Playing’ with any BMW engine seems to get expensive quick!

but, just fyi, the 325e stuff is plug and play in to an m10 318 car. the electrical uses the same plugs so your engine harness will plug right into the body so that makes one spot easier as you don't have to buy, or make, an adapter
No e30s again.
Why not stroke the m10 and install the turbo?
