Hi All,
I'm replacing the rocker cover gaskets on my 840ci soon, so I've been checking the maintenance manual ahead of doing so.
It says to use 'rubber anti-friction compound e.g. Glycerin' when fitting the gasket to the cover - I presume that I can use red rubber grease for this?
It also says to 'coat the contact faces of the joint with Hylomac SQ 32M** liquid sealing compound'. Is this necessary and, if so, can anyone recommend a product (available in UK)? I've googled 'Hylomac' and it doesn't return any results.

Normally Black RTV works in the corners of the half-moon on the gasket. Just put a little in the corners, and you will be good, just don't go over board.
