    Shift cover, facelift vs pre-facelift

Trying to verify if the shifter surround plate is the same between pre and post Facelift non-m cars.

RealOEM says NLA regardless of year, some sites like 96-02 for one part number, some sites states does not fit 00-02

Item 20 from this RealOEM image

    Thank you

Does that account for the different OBCs? Forgive me, as I'm not that well versed on the non Ms

    Randy,

The OBC shape is pre-facelift vs. facelift. That would be 96-99 and 00-01. The first year of facelift (2000) still uses the GM 4spd automatic, which has a different shift surround plate than the ZF 5 spd auto used in 01-02 models.

This is for a 5 speed car. I'm not looking at the boot, or plastic slider on an auto. I am wanting to change out the very poor condition wood trim pieces for the plain black versions. The gauge/obc I have a confirmed part number for, I need to verify if the lower half around the shifter is the same for pre and post facelift cars.

I'm curious on this as well. I'd like to change out the wood in my coupe for plain black. I have the leather "boomerangs" already, just need to figure out the other pieces to the puzzle.

In that case they are the same. The wood piece will be very expensive. Prepare for sticker shock.

The wood pieces come in different thicknesses. I don't know if that was a change with the facelift update or during earlier production.
