Would it be OK to put 225/45/17 tires on a rim that came with 205/50/17?

    Hi folks.
My wife recently bought a 2017 230i. She loves it but seems to be breaking the wheels loose off the line more than we both thought she would. The tires are close to the wear mark. So new tires! What's on it is the original 205/50-17 shitty run flats. I'd like to put 225/45/17 tires on. Do you folks think that would be OK? Not asking about the overall total diameter --that's fine. Just asking whether the 2cm of additional width might be a problem for the rim or the fender. Anyone try it?

    thanks

    Jeff

Shouldn't be an issue. My colleague at work has m240 and there is NO lip at all on the inner fenders in the back.
