I have the dreaded broken headlight adjusters and so what is everyones take on who has had this:
Go by the DITY module of replacing these adjusters using the open or closed method?
Has anyone bought a HID headlight kit to use in the interim while waiting to get these parts ordered and installed.?
I think I want to get the whole assembly then take my time with the headlight adjusters and not rush the job.
I found a pair HID LED DRL headlight assembly for a decent price from ProTuning Lab.
does anyone have any reviews from this company or does any recommend another company who sells complete HID headlight assembly.
Not a fan of the way my light beam pattern shines down to the road at night.
Your lights are 2001 so they bake open, the repair process is pretty simple. You could easily do one of them in an evening, I don't see why you'd want to buy a whole different set of headlights.
im just thinking of options. the ones I found on ProTuning are for e39 without HID.
Ill get more info and give it a shot when I get my car from shop.
Yeah I would just get a heat gun, heat em up, pull apart and replace the adjusters. I have non-bake and I used the hole saw method which I sealed up with a grommet. I also just did a set of pre '01..which are a piece of cake since they gently unsnap.
The fact that hella used non-permanent adjusters then consciously made their headlights increasingly un-repairable really disgusts me..
these adjusters need to be made out of something stronger than this brittle plastic.
i wonder if they can be 3d printed and it would be stronger than the plastic.
orders adjusters so waiting on arrival in the mail
There are CNC aluminum adjusters available, they are pricey though.
First time I replaced my adjusters, it took me three and a half hours, to do both, without backing open. The second time around, it took just over 2 hours.
