2004 325 Ci. I was hoping I might get a little help here. Sometimes my passenger headlight goes out, sometimes the drivers side goes out. A few times both go out. Usually doesn't happen until I have been driving 15 minutes or so but when I turn the car off and restart it they come back on. Any ideas?
Welcome to the Forum!
Now I am going to ASSUME that you have the HID headlights here.
What color are the lights when they do work? A blueish color is normal, while a pinkish means the bulbs are getting aged. The other factor with those type of lamps is they use Ballast like florescent lights. The ballast can go bad and cause the lamps to flicker.
Lastly pull out the bulbs and inspect them, for when they age, you will get black burnt spots on the lamp.
NOTE: Do not touch the bulb/glass area.

Darin thanks. They are blueish. I was wondering about the control that is part of the interior dashboard switch. I saw a youtube video on that and it sounded like it my be the problem.
The better way to find out is to simply plug a diagnostic tool that can talk to the Light Control Module (LCM). Most hand scanners cannot do this, for they only talk to the DME or engine computer.
Also cheap bulbs can overheat and shut down too, so lets have a look at the bulbs, and who made them first, then report back.
As a side note, Phillips was the OE provider of these lamps.
