    Touring Self Leveling Shocks

Finally had to bite the bullet and pick up a set of these shocks. Expensive and NA from BMW but my Touring needs them. I've been running a used pair of M5 shocks for about the last 8 years but they're starting to leak down. I prefer the self-leveling system so converting to standard shocks wasn't an option.

I approve this. I did it on mine 7 years ago and am still glad I did: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ng-back-to-SLS

I also prefer the self-leveling system and have repaired my shocks DIY, inside are mainly o-rings, the top seal I also repaired. DIY info is available, on my website are many pics of disassembled LAD shocks.
Do not scrap the old ones, try to repair them.

All I can tell you is that the boxes were really dusty. I assumed nos since if they were still making them BMW would probably still them them for $700. You can also get them off Amazon from the same Autobarn supplier (run the sachs number) and maybe can get some additional discounts.

I still have the original shocks off the back still assembled with the original springs if anyone wants a set to restore. I have H&R's on the back now. Have all the new parts for mounting the shocks including the new rubber lines to the accumulators which is different than the M5. Well, the lines are coming from Germany anyway.

Corg's are fine. Probably the main reason I still have the Touring as they like to ride.

Hmm I think I have a Sachs contact. Tomorrow I will check and if so l will ask if these are still made.
