I recently picked up a 2005 325xi, it has BMW Assist, and has built in bluetooth. I'm able to connect my phone to the factory bluetooth, and it works great. However my stereo keeps locking up with the message saying that BMW Assist is inactive. If I unplug the BMW Assist in the trunk, will I also kill my phone connection to bluetooth? Also, what triggers that message to appear, it seems kind of random.

dmac156: two days ago I experienced what you described...and I was just getting in the car. in the past that BMWAssist message only came on if I pressed the overhead button and or the phone/radio button...but this time it was flashing when I entered the car for the start of the day...had no time to fiddel with it so I just let it flash(thing is the radio is disabled) after about 30min it stopped, back to normal with the tunes...again this is unusual for me .
