E32 primary ABS fuse location?

So I am trying to figure out this ABS light thing. Sensors look good. I am going to open up the overload relay to check it out next. But looking at fuses, all the ABS fuses I can find are very low amperage. I would think the ABS unit itself must have a large amperage primary fuse. Unless it is only relay controlled? All other systems work fine. I pulled one of the "minor" fuses for ABS, 5 amp. Interesting upon startup the ABS light went out after lamp check. So it seems the self-check really does happen when the vehicle is in motion, which makes this even harder to trouble shoot. If I cant fix it, it is what it is. Vehicle sold. Just trying to square as much as I can up for the new owner.

I do not have a code reading, could never get the software to work right. The cable I have I only has service reset, not ABS, SRS (unfortunately).

Nevermind, I was so stuck on SRS codes I forgot ABS/ASC codes can in fact be read by the end user:

Which really makes me think since most other codes can be read in some way without special tools, there has to be a way with SRS.

I had that once and there on front side the 2-pin sensor plug was broken at the location where it plugs into the wire loom coming from the engine bay. You have to remove the inner fender plastic cover then you can see the plug. Plug I could not find a new one in ETK, had a old wire loom and took that plug and soldered it in. In case you do not have a used plug, just re-solder it. I my case the ABS light went out then.

Die Sensoren sind recht einfach mit einem einfachen Ohmmeter zu prüfen.
Deckel für Motronic-Kasten abnehmen(4 Schrauben). Sitzt auf der Beifahrerseite vor der Windschutzscheibe. Das ABS-Modul sitzt zum Kühler hin. Das braune Relais zwischen den Modulen ist das ABS-Relais.
Stecker vom ABS-Modul entriegeln und abziehen.
Gegen Masse messen geht nicht,weil beide Adern (Seele und Abschirmung) direkt auf die Pins des Steckers am ABS-Steuergerät gehen und von dort die Masse erst erhalten. Zieht man den Stecker zum Messen ab, ist natürlich die Masse weg.
Man sollte so vorgehen:
Stecker vom ABS-Modul abziehen und umdrehen. Dann sieht man eine Doppelreihe mit Kontakten. Eine kürzere und eine etwas längere Leiste. Die kürzere Leiste hat die ungeraden Zahlen,die längere die geraden Zahlen der Pins.
Gezählt wird von der Seite aus,wo sich NICHT der Kabelbaum befindet,also vom Kotflügel aus.
Dann einfach das Ohmmeter an folgende Pins halten:
Pin 4 und 6 = Sensor links vorne 1000 Ohm (rote Seele)
Pin 9 und 7 = Sensor links hinten 1000 Ohm (weiße Seele)
Pin 21 und 11 = Sensor rechts vorne 1000 Ohm (gelbe Seele)
Pin 26 und 24 = Sensor rechts hinten 1000 Ohm (grüne Seele)

Wobei 4, 9, 21, 26 die Masseadern = Schirmungen sind. (transparente Isolierung)
Man kann den Stecker mit 3 Schrauben auch problemlos öffnen.
Dann kann man sich nach den Farben richten und sieht auch die Nummern der Pins. Die Widerstandswerte können streuen zwischen 600 und 1600 Ohm. Liegt man darunter,handelt es sich um einen Kurzschluss auf der Leitung, oder im Sensor selbst.
Die Sensoren haben als Karosseriedurchfuehrung einen zweipoligen Stecker. Jeweils einen in den Radhaeusern fuer vorne. Die Hinteren befinden sich unter der Rücksitzbank.
An den Steckvorrichtungen kann man zwar auch messen, kommt aber schlechter ran, als an den Stecker direkt am ABS-Modul. Sehr wahrscheinlich sind die Zuleitungskabel in den Radhäusern zu den Sensoren defekt. Unterbrochen,weil diese ja ständig in Bewegung sind. Hier dann den Sensor ausbauen und messen.

That testing is 100% a no-go for the 750iL as far as I can tell. I went over it and nothing made sense for what I could find on the car.

page 0661-03 lists ABS but no fuse marked
page 3450-a and -b shows you pin assignment ABS for the speed sensors front and rear and the ground etc

in total 35 pins

I have seen all that. Yet K10 is not there. That spot is just a hole, not even a blank for a relay. So thats part of the confusion. Well no matter, car departs for another state tomorrow. New owner will have to work out the issues - issues I mentioned in the sale, so they are aware.
