This may have been discussed before. Had it at my shop being worked on and instead of closing the trunk, we left it propped open so that we could access the batteries in the back quickly (have a battery disconnect key due to sever battery drain we can't pin point).
Went to finally close it and send it home when it decided it didn't want to lock closed. I have read the forum about it not opening but reversing what is suggested isn't working. I have never been able to use the electronic latch (handle in the trunk lid) as I'm not sure if it has been disconnected or what but I have always had to use the manual override way to open it. I don't/can't verify that the latch on the car hasn't been lowered somehow or something is blocking it (I don't see how?? but never know with these ancient things).
I have 99 Problems and this looks to be 100 haha
Any advice or suggestions are welcome!
Thank you!
Probably the best way forward is to replace the lock actuator - it is pretty simple and cheap:

its the spring in the actuator not pulling the arm back so it won't hold the trunk down...I used two rubber bands until I got one from a wrecker for $5
