I realized today that with the unlikely exceptions of some 5-digit odometer rigs, nothing I've owned has had less than 100k miles.
My previous 544iT had 269k when I sold it, though very little was original except the body (~210k on the M62 and 420G), and is doing great in the new owner's hands.
My current 525iT has 278k on the original engine (that's burning oil), and the rest of my fleet are Nasty Old Trucks with opaque histories.

One previous Nasty Old Truck, a 91 Toyota 2wd, had 310k when sold. The cab was only partially attached to the frame, and the springs sagged so bad its cargo capacity was about 500lb, but it ran great, neither leaked nor smoked, and got high 20's highway. That one was my highest known mileage.

I've seen 300k+ E34 and heard of 400k+. There's an E36 on BFC that a few years ago had 600k+ though on its second (?) engine. Just for curiosity, I looked up the highest-mileage Ferrari known to the internet, and laughed at the incredulity and accolades that the winner recieved... at 157k. I think I've ever owned only one car with less than 157k: a 4/93 530iT with 139k
E34 or BMW or not, what's the highest mileage car you've owned, and how much of it was/is original?

I had a 98 323is with 244k. I was the third owner. The second owners had it for 17 years. The car was completely stock except for the sound system. Unfortunately after three months of ownership the tranny started to slip so I got rid of it
My car stopped counting at 300k, and the PO drove it for 6 years after that. So when the engine blew up, I couldn’t really be mad. New engine has 250k and counting.

My most recent E34 - '92 525, bought at 249k and got the original everything up to 255ish. It ran fine the whole way but would spit black mystery liquid onto any surface behind the pipes on startup, which I figured was one or more of the rings checking out.
All the accessories remained in service on the S52 swap except the starter which I fried trying to fire it up for the first time with the B+ cable disconnected like an idiot It sure was fun tearing back down to the intake after putting the whole thing together to replace that....
I sold it with around 260 on the chassis I think.
JHower08 is one of the highest mileage e34s I can recall. He was well over 400k with at least 350+ on the original m50 that was never opened if I recall correctly!

I bought an E36 325i that had 31,000 miles at time of purchase, and drove it to 288,000 miles. It got totaled in a collision, but was running fine until that point. My current E34 530i (1995) has 175,000 miles. I am the second owner. And my E39 530i (2003) has 192,000 miles. I plan to keep both of these cars indefinitely.
Volatility is the green car.
My 94 E34 525 has 368000klms on it Ive owned it 3 years and put 168000 of those on but prior to that I had a Nissan 12 seater that I put 500000klms on and when sold it had 722000klms on the clock

Currently, it's my one owner (I'm the second) 535i with 196,000 miles.

My 91 525i rolled 306k yesterday. Only took 3 cylinder heads to get this far
had a 540 with a bit over 400,000 miles ... I just rolled 300 k on this one and resealed the whole intake today.
My highest is my current buggy, a 1991 Toyota Pickup SR5 X-cab 2wd.
3.0 V6 5 speed.
Rolled 323k on my way to dad's for Thanksgiving
sold a 1998 5.9liter dodge durango with just a tick over 400K miles on it. ran great.
AC was not working, otherwise solid.
bought new and services regularly.
only used valvoline, then valvoline max life. nary a leak or burn.
several GMC gas engine 5.9 or 6.0 with over 300K on them when sold.
current GMC 6.0 has 250K and going strong. expect 400K easy.
had a honda w/ 360K on it when someone totaled it.
Current BMW s52 has just over 100K and it runs like a champ and i expect many many hundreds of thousands of miles on it.
201k on my e46, SULEV tank was replaced at 120k, trans had to be rebuilt around 180-185k & about to be on my 2nd alternator and it has LCABs done.
rest of it is original.
wifes e83 was at about 216-217k last time I looked.
I had to replace a some sort of evap pump in the rear fender well at 150k, and I just replaced the water pump, and the ac compressor in the last 2-3k.
Rest of it is original.
god only knows how many times around my 73 mgb was, it only had a 5 digit ODO. Either 165 or 265 is my guess judging by how worn out it was. Pretty sure my 74 was only once around at about 175k

If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".
Mostly because I like puns.
