Race teams spend considerable effort trying to get as much of the oil out of the crankcase with coatings and trays and dry dumps tuned to pull a vacuum so the oil can’t stay in suspension. Unless you really really need it to supliment the cooling system like Mikes car, I guess I don’t really know why you would want to take perfectly good filtered oil and pump it into the top of the crank case.
I agree with you there for sure. I think the front sump pan in the E30 application is probably your main problem, because overfilling a stock E36 rear sump pan with a baffle typically works really well to keep the oil where it needs to be under hard acceleration. It's only under quick transitions left to right where I would notice any kind of oil pressure dip on the datalogs at all before going to the euro dual pick up stuff. Have you logged oil pressure during a pass (I assume so?) to see it dip?

    are slow.
Lol, I love how this turned from a turbo build thread to an oil thread.

Just to be clear, you're running an S54 pump, dual pickups, and the S54 pan?

On Jason's engine, yes. On mine, I have a euro S50B30 pump/pan/pickups, but it's the same thing.

I datalog oil pressure and don't get any dips, but I do have the pan baffled specifically for acceleration. The oil pump pickup is right at the back of the sump and I have a baffle welded across the sump to catch the oil from sloshing out of the sump. I also have a decent size kickout in the sump that is baffled off to provide a steady supply of oil into the sump.

Wideband isn't reading correctly, so I will need to calibrate that, then get it all the way up to temp to heat cycle it, retorque the studs, and then go lean on it!

    Looks great!

I thought these manifolds didn't need an oil siphon pump?

I don't think they do, but he had issues with his last manifold setup, so he just wanted to be 100% sure there weren't any drainage issues here.

I left my scavenge pump set up installed just in case as the EFR9180 drain is kinda low.

Does the subject car’s EFR 7670 sit higher than the 9180 or are both the same frame turbo? I don’t use a scavenge with my 9180 and have not experienced any smoking. I would prefer more slope in the drain to the pan but it seems to work.

I run my oil level higher for track use and with higher cornering forces I was concerned about getting smoke on long left handers. It was also easier for me to leave the scavenge pump installed than remove it. Maybe once all the other little issues are dealt with I can experiment with removing the scavenge pump.

It is also listed as a "B2 frame" so I would expect very similar placement. It would probably work without the pump, but he is just being extra cautious.

This car will have a lot of oil slosh as well, so it's probably a good precautionary measure.

Fixed a small leak at the tensioner - forgot a crush washer there, and tightened 1 AN line for the scavenge pump. Need to calibrate the wideband / possibly replace the sensor, and then I should be able to go drive it. 1 bar springs in the wastegates right now.

Took the maiden voyage today, got it up to temp so I can retorque the head studs tomorrow. It sounds awesome and spools like lightning!

It's a Turbowerx unit. I'm not sure of the exact model.

It spools like lightning. Need to play with the EBC to get it to hold boost up top as it falls off pretty hard being a tiny turbo on a 3.2L. It's going to make for such an easy and torquey powerband to drive/drift.
