Hi everyone
I am trying to get a 1991 e36 318i started. It was working fine until it stopped on the highway. After towing it home I figured out the fuel pump had stopped working. I replaced the fuel pump relay and that seems to have the pump working again.
The engine will not start. It turns over but does not attempt to start. The spark
plug leads spark when tested. So I think fuel is still not getting to the engine.
I decided to check all of the relays and have found that the oxygen sensor relay does not have power at pin 30. Could this be my problem or is it normal that pin 30 does not have power.

First of all check the crankshaft sensor. https://www.newtis.info/

He means CAMshaft sensor

I haven't tested the crank or the cam shaft sensor yet. I have removed connector for what I believe is the crank shaft sensor connector and tested for voltage at the outlet socket for voltage with the ignition on. There was no voltage there. I think there should be. Is my thinking correct.
i thing the engine is an m40
You check the cam and crank sensors for ohmage, not power. It is most likely crank sensor or dead battery/altinator.
Nobody would recertify these machines after somebody screwed with them without any visibility into what they did.

If you have access to a scan tool with live data, look at the engine rpm while trying to crank it. If no rpm is reported, then your crank sensor is dead.

I just checked the resistance of crankshaft sensor. It reads 914 on the 2K ohms scale. Does anyone know what the resistance ought to be?
The resistance was across pin 1 & 2.

Just changed the crankshaft sensor. No difference.
Within 10% of 540 ohm. Same goes for the cam.
