    Euro front bumper removal

Id like to know what the removal process is for removing a euro front bumper. I need to repaint the bumper so id like to know what the most efficient way is.
I could have sworn there was one out there but I can seem to find it here.
    Thanks

I think it is going to depend on how it was Federalized. The requirements required some additions to the bumper (reinforcing bar) and this seemed to be an invitation for some solutions that weren't...friendly...to future disassembly, at least for some.

The bumper and spoiler are bolted together with like a gazillion bolts (maybe 20ish...) That being said, there are 4 bolts in the front brackets(2 each) and IIRC 2 on each corners which bolt through the fender. That's all. If you have foglamps, unplug them first.

To get the bumper off the car, there are 4 carriage bolts and nuts. All you have to do is loosen those, disconnect the electrical connectors for the fog lights and temp sensor, and it will slide forward.

Once it's off the car you can dismantle it. There are a bunch of nuts to take off hold the black trim in place, the top chrome pieces, the spoiler and the metal bumper under all of it.

As pointed out, the way it was Federlized could complicate it. I had to take a sawsall to mine to cut the metal bars out before I could get to the nuts. I took the metal bars out in 3 pieces.

Thanks guys, I’ll have to get in there and see what I’m dealing with. It’s been a while since I crept under the car.
