    New to M5s. Help.

Iíve never owned an M5 or any 5 series for that matter. Iíve always wanted to but never had the money for it. Iíve finally found one in my price range (<$10k) but it has 192,000 miles! The guy is asking $6,900 and Iím very eager to buy it. If I were to buy it, what issues should I look out for, would it be worth it, etc.

    Thanks,
    Deepy

That is a lot of mileage, every thing about the m5 is completely dirrerent that the regular 5 series so parts will be more. I would get a pre purchase inspection for sure. I had a customer with 280 on his and the engine had never been apart. Personally if I could afford an m5 and I can't I would search for a much lower mileage and the last year of production. Also take your time looking for a car, it may take a while to find the right one, but if you rush into it you may regret it.

My experience has been, If I don't have the money to buy a good example, I definitely don't have the money to rehabilitate a beat one. Probably not what you want to hear, but I have many times tried to save money like this. The amount of money and time to get to where you want to be is just not worth it.
