    H7 high beam hid conversion

    `

    I have a 2000 E38 740iL -

I want to replace my H7 Halogen high beams

    with HID's -

Has anyone done this recently and if so what / who's

HID conversion kit did you use -

I am looking for the best kit possible using 6000k

    HID bulbs -

I recently had new headlights installed that have

HID low beams and angel eyes but the high beams

    are H7 halogen bulbs -

I have tried several brands of H7 halogen bulbs

all claiming to be "Super White" but they are still

    yellow looking -

    Enough with the Halogens -

Any and all help regarding this subject will

    be greatly appreciated -

    Thank-You
    D.B.

Hid have to warm up, I wouldn’t recommend them. theretrofitsource.com. Has led from morimoto I sell them and highly recommended. They also have the resistors if you can’t program the bulb warning out.

I am not worried about the HID "warm up time" -

I am doing this for looks only -

I want the highs / lows / angel eyes / fog lights

to look the same - all 6000k -

My E38 is close to being done update wise

and will seldom if ever be driven at night -

And will not be driven in the rain or even on

    wet pavement when finished -

    Thank-You

All I'm going to say on crappy HID setups like you're asking about is "Don't." And if you do, you're going to end up with lights that look really bright but are pretty useless for seeing and very easy to blind the crap out of other drivers with.

If you want suggestions for how to make your lights better looking with better functionality or just want better lights, I'll have better answers.

Again I am only doing this for looks -

I don't drive at night as I am living the dream

of legal marijuana and Macallan 18 everynight -

Someone else drives or I take a taxi -

The 7 is only going to be driven in nice weather

and if the lights are on it would be during daylight hours -

As in the several hours of daylight before sunset -

The 7 is not my DD -

And how often does anyone use their Hi-Beams -

When I turn the Hi-Beams on it will be for the Look as

the HID low beams are bright enough for any

driving conditions I may encounter -

The Morimoto website will not allow me to enter my

    make and model -

If any forum members have had a recent positive experience

with a site that also sells H7 HID 6000k Hi-Beam kits

could you please post the link -

    Thank-You

High beams for looks isn't a thing. If ANYONE is around to be looking at them, they belong off. Otherwise you're blind them and causing a seriously dangerous situation. Even during the day if they're bright lights. Period, end of story. That's not a negotiable thing or a matter of opinion.

Now for the how often does anyone use high beams question, it depends on where you live and how much night driving you do. I've had plenty of times where I've had an hour or more of high beam use in a day (not all at once of course). And I've driven in plenty of places where not having good high beams means you're going to be going awfully slowly not to hit the things you can't see.

I can’t help you with the headlights DB but I’m down with the ganj and Macallan 18. We keep 12 on hand at the office, 15 a special treat. 18? I like your style.

    Thanks for the input -

I have e-mails sent to both

    Superbrightleds.com / lightwerkz.net -

    Awaiting their replies -

    I just installed these headlights:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-UHP-LE...53.m1438.l2649

and would like all bulbs to match

    as close as possible -

Ed - if you have not tried the 18 before

buy a double the next time you are in

    a bar - you won't be disappointed -

Send me a P.M. stating what size shirt

    you wear -

My account is not functioning correctly

    and I can't send a P.M. unless I am responding

    to a forum members P.M.

    Thank-You

DB, I remembered this E39 who added LED's into his high beam setup. Take a look at his thread to give you some ideas. He also has a video link posted in the thread.

    https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e3...s-writeup.html

Also, the bulbs he bought/used have been updated if you like the ones he went with...
