Noise after valve cover gasket

Hi to all! New issue. I recently replaced my valve cover gasket 2005 x3 3.0. Haven't noticed any noise until today. I noticed a rubbing/scoring noise from top of valve cover. I can hear when I put my ear to it. Has anyone had similar issue? Maybe sound and vibration traveling that it may be tension pulley.. any advice will help

You need a mechanic stethoscope. Doesn't sound normal.

Trying to avoid going to dealer or shop. After u repaired the heavy leak from valve cover. Noticed the noise. I was cautious and made sure nothing fell in there. Had a experience once with a disco. Bought the car used and from what I noticed, no maintenance was ever done to it. No change in performance other than noise that does quiet down once it warms up

No, I mean, you need a stethoscope for mechanics. Or something to help pin point the noise. HF sells them for like 4 or 5 bucks. A long screw driver can work too. What type of oil do you use? Check the oil level?

Oh gotcha. Did oil change 500miles ago. Mobile 1. I used long screw driver. I'll update once I remove the valve cover and inspect

Vanos making the noise. Looked online, doesn't look difficult replace.
