speaker replacement

Heard some scratchy sound coming from my driver side tweeter location the last few days so i think its time to do a small speaker/amp upgrade for the car.

I'm not looking to break the bank right away as I amp planning a full blown stereo upgrade in few months.


If you have done a speaker amp upgrade, what route did you go?

Im not looking to spend a lot of money, but im also not going to put crap in the car.

Go to Best buy or call crutchfield. Everything is difficult as they use a lot of internal amps and split all the frequencies. Plus the logic amp. And the seven series is a giant battery.

Plus the BMW use microfiberoptoc cables.

I would recommend just swapping out speakers and leave amps alone.

Where do you recommend for diagnosing a sound quality issue? Seems that there’s some attenuation in the crossover as the midrange is poor and the highs are worse. No distortion just poor resolution and level.
