528i Pre-purchase Checklist

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I'm helping my sister look for a new car, and she's expressed interest in a 528i. Are there any issues I should look out for? Her budget is about 10-12k, and I'm not sure what mileage I should aim for with that kind of budget. Any tips would be appreciated!

Get a pre purchase inspection, if she is coming from Japanese cars she should expect to pay more for BMW maintance and repairs. Lower mileage the better

Avoid the N20/N26 4 cylinder 528i's. (2012-16)

Junk engine, and desperately inadequate power wise to motivate the heavy chassis it is attached to.

Look at a 535i at a minimum, and get a 2014+

10-12k isn't going to buy a good example of either.
