just ordered a spectra premium tank and pump.... wasnt that bad of a price. Apparently the spectra premium tank is getting decent reviews... i hope the pump/carrier is the same.

i just ended up ordering a spectra premium tank and pump from amazon. Getting a new giubo and csb since i bet those havent been ever changed out from rockauto and I have to drop the driveshaft anyways. started pb blaster on the exhaust nuts.

Looking for a diy for replacing tank, but havent found one yet.

One piece of advice might be to use the existing pump to pump the remaining fuel out of the tanks before you start removing them. Disconnecting the supply hose somewhere and connecting 12volts to the pump somehow might save you some headache depending how much fuel is in there now

The tank is empty. It had a drain plug and i got almost all of it out that way.

i got the new tank in with new pump finally! it took a week to remove everything to get to the tank. I have some parts for the driveshaft coming in to finish putting together. I was able to start it up. (without the exhaust, that was freaking loud in my garage). But I am happy that everything went in. One hole on the spectra premium tank was off, but easily fixed. Now to figure out how to get rid of the old tank. Omfg, that thing had even more rust than i originally thought. Once i got it out in the sun, it was a wonder that the tank was even in one piece. Want a major pita, but looks like it was a wise move.

Thank you for following up, I have a super eta that will surely need a tank/lines/etc , since it has been sitting in the rust belt it’s entire life. I think I have used spectra parts before on my trucks and I have never had any issues

i ended up replacing all the hoses connected to the tank also. there was rust coating the insides... as far as i can tell everything past the filter is fine. I kept the connecting s pipe since they are around 200+. (why?) i soaked it in antirust and painted the outside. I sprayed wd40 on the inside and let it set before installing.
