Apparently my steel gray Coupe was invisible against the asphalt! I solved the problem by buying the canadian headlight relay from LeatherZ that runs the high beams at reduced voltage continuously. I haven't had anyone move over into my lane in the last several years.

Genius! I'll look into that. However, I did just buy LED high/low bulbs (for the Coupe...Roadster is HID converted) so wonder how they play with a DRL module.

I drove a full size Bronco for 13 years and almost crushed a couple Miatas. Little cars and motorcycles really are difficult to see in a big truck.

And that video is exactly what I was looking for. I have no doubts I can do this job after watching that. And, looks like a found another use for the new bearing puller/splitter I bought.
Yes sir, sounds like u got head around it...

The tool u used in the front should pull the rear axles in (did on my 99 2.8 coupe anyway)

The rear hub will contact the bearing. I felt it in the torque right away.

Just got all my steering parts delivered. No lock plate on Z3 inner tie rods? RealOEM shows the part in the diagram, but it's greyed out.

I do recall putting them on the 3.2. As strange as it may seem, perhaps, not so on the 2.8. I wonder why that is. I'm sure someone would know here...

Ditto, I definitely installed them on my M Roadster. I guess I'll find out when I pull the boots off. It's been in the 30s here and motivation to work in the garage is a direct relation to weather for me.

Confirmed. No lock plates on the 2.8.

Overall a rewarding experience. The bearing tool was a game changer for me. DS slid on like butter. PS took a bit more force with the tool but worked great. I didn't paint calipers yet, as I wanted to pull them off the car to do and had lent my power bleeder to a friend. So a paint and bleed needed, but whatever.

Suprisingly the car tracked dead straight. I measured the new tie rods down to the mm though, so makes sense I got close. I did buy some toe plates to see how close I can get on my own. I hate paying shops to do just a toe alignment. Car feels a lot tighter too, so guess tie rods were very worthwhile. I went with Lemforder.

New Zimmermanns and Akebonos are great. Brakes really bite now (not sure what brand I removed).

Oh, and I can hear the motor again. I didn't realize how used to the noisy bearings I had actually become.

That welded tie rod nut was a royal PITA.

Seems no real damage besides the scrapes and probably a broken clip or two, but yeah Chrysler Pacificas and Coupes don't mix. A new bumper doesn't really bother me, and maybe the hatch can polish out. We'll see. This was a 5mph tap and saw her coming which is probably worse as far as my neck & back are concerned.

    Coupe's bumper same as Roadster's?
