[QUOTE=GGGGOAT;30250488]Good morning all!
So my wife's A6 was totaled a couple weeks ago. Everyone was OK. We are now looking at a 2013 Sakhir Orange BMW M5 with 27K miles on it. All service records/documents. Completely stock. How expensive are these to maintain? Are there certain years/known problems I should be looking for? I've been told to stay away from V10's. They are asking $42,500 for it. Yes/No?
HUGE thanks in advance for any info/advice you can give!
been a while since your post; hopes this helps
I just bought a 2015 M5, so I am sort of new to this
Maintenance will be expensive, not sure how much. I bought mine thinking I would get an extended mileage plan, but could not get one; apparently the repair history on this car is so expensive that national warranties or not available (or at least very hard to find).
Recommend you watch for leaks and perform oil service every 5k miles, regardless of what the car tells you. Suggest Amsoil over Mobile 1; Amsoil beats Mobile 1 in all scientific tests. I use Amsoil in all my vehicles; I put 235k miles on my 740il and it used 4 oz of oil between oil changes at 5k miles.
I would not buy the mentioned 2013: first if the model year and $42.5 is too high, they are putting a premium on the low miles. There are plenty of 2015 and 2016 out there for the same $
