I have a 99 M3 2 door. I need new floor mats. I'm too cheap to pay $100+ for mats with the M logo.
When I shop around for E36 floor mats, I only see years up to 98. Wouldn't floor mats for a non M E36 pre-99 fit?
Thanks.
I would say the same. E36 is E36 because I had a 95 and 97M and they all share the same platform.
Any E36 mats will fit. That said, I bought the grey M mats for my car a few years ago to replace my old falling apart mats and I think they're worth the price ($90-120 depending on sales).

^ I read somewhere that sedan and coupe mats are the same (is that what you are alluding to here?), which I never knew...
No, I think sedan/coupe mats are different. The point I was making above is that M3 and non-M (328i, etc...) E36 mats should all fit the same since the interior dimensions are identical coupe to coupe or sedan to sedan.

According to getBMWParts (where I got my floormats) they are the same for coupe/sedan, and only different for convertibles.
