2007 550i smoke after long idle, need advice

I just picked up a 2007 550i, 129k miles. Overall the car seems to be well maintained. It drives great, runs super strong, doesn’t leak and doesn’t smoke when driving. This morning I was stuck in a drive through for a bit and noticed I got a plume of smoke out of the exhaust after I had been sitting for a handful of minutes. I pulled off, and it went away. I don’t get any smoke at all on start up, nor while driving normal or wide open. There are no check engine lights, warnings and no stored codes.

The previous owner recently replaced the CCV hose assembly that comes off the valve covers and into the intake. He also replaced the ccv pressure valves (the rubber diaphragms and springs on the valve covers)

One thing I noticed is that there is oil in that ccv line. When I opened up the caps on the ccv pressure valves and looked under the rubber diaphragm there is oil where the spring is, which leads me to believe it’s reasonable that oil is getting into the intake. Could this cause my issue? Are there other parts of the ccv I should check?

I’ve put a couple hundred miles on the car since I bought it and the only time I see smoke is when I’ve been sitting stationary for more than a few minutes. Any advice or direction on what to check would be immensely appreciated.

That sounds like valve stem seals to me. Condolences.

Check pcv valves and change the oil to the 10w60 m oil

The valve stem seals are leaking. There may be ways to prolong the engine, and push off the repair, it's not going to magically fix itself.

I've always thought valve seal leaks, smoke on start up and WOT.

So you either have some body replace the valve seals, expensive or try the thinker oil. Plus oil is probably in the catalytic converter so after changing the oil to the 10w 60, it could still take a while for the smoke to calm down
