    Wiring Harness

Towed my car to the shop today thinking that my starter was out but I was dead wrong. :0
Part of the wiring harness was stripped off during my tire blowout and that may be the reason why. Since i'm still not familiar with the 8, here are some pictures...

The piece that I am holding goes down through the front passenger wheel well through a small hole about 2 inches in diameter.
I believe the line then goes towards another hole... Here are some more pictures.

As I looked closer, I could see a bunch of shredded wires through this hole. It's located behind the fender lining.

What I would like to find out right now is, what are these shredded wires, what is its purpose in the car, where to find this part, and how would I be able to fix it.
I am still not familiar with the 8 so excuse me if I don't know some of the terms. Any suggestions would be quite helpful.
I will try my best to answer any questions but there is not much that I know in this situation..

You think? You’ve got more then just a starter problem. You need a local e31 Indy where you are located unless you have some wiring skills. Blow out must have been colorful.

The connector is X69 - and the hole where the wires have failed is part of the skeleton of the car. I think that the black box that you can see through the hole is the Ebox which houses the main computers. The circuit diagram below:

    https://www.meeknet.co.uk/e31/e31_91.pdf

...will show you what X69 connects - but I warn you that it is a bit of a trawl to find exactly what goes through it as X69 will probably be shown on many pages.

There is no chance of getting those wires fixed via the hole in the skeleton so the Ebox will have to be lifted - and that is not a trivial task, and something I have no personal experience of.

What I am thinking it's best to match the color on the wires and fix that part of the harness.
