Completely dead oil warning light.
Hi, Problem with e39 tdsa. Car works fine but after the engine has been replaced, the oil lamp does not burn in the dash.
Neither red nor yellow. Visually the wires are fine. Dash checked.t The sensor error would make the light on ? Any ideas?

The oil pressure switch breaks the ground when it opens at a set pressure, I think 2 bar. So what you can do is look at the wiring diagrams, and unhook that wire from the switch and see if the light comes on.
As for your questions about the sensor error, no not if it is stuck closed.
