I decided to delete the power steering on my E36 race car. I bought a block off plate and the install could not have been easier, and it really cleans up the engine bay. I searched and searched but could not find the info I needed on belt size. I only found a few vague items listing the belt as a between 1410mm and 1420mm. So this is where I started and then found this thread below.

I have an S52 with VAC underdrive pulleys for the wp and alt. Neither the 6pk 1410 or the 6pk 1420 worked for me. They were both too short. So I went back to the auto parts store and asked for a 6pk 1430. Well the sizes jumped from 1420 to 1500, that wasn't going to work. I went to a different store and it was the same jump in size. So I looked at the technical info for the belts in his computer and the part number size (i.e. 6pk 1410) was different from the actual length. I took out my phone and did the conversion to inches and ordered a belt that was that size. 57 inches which is just over 1450mm and that is the belt part number, 6pk 1450. This worked for me. So now to clear all this up...

To delete the power steering for an S52 with underdrive pulleys for wp and alt, keeping the idler - 6pk1450 is the belt you will need.

I hope this helps someone and saves them some time.
