ABS and ASC lights on sometimes not always

So the issue is that most of the time the ABS and ASC isn't working at all and lights are on but sometimes when starting he car the lights are off and the ABS and ASC are both working correctly. I do not have acces to a scanner that reads these codes and i mostly just need help in guessing what the issue might be or if anyone has had this same issue and managed to fix it.

    Any help is appreciated.

It can be anything from the sensors to the abs module. You will need to perform a series of tests by gaining access to the reader to diagnose easily

guessing = letting loose with the parts cannon (and the grip on your wallet) getting the fault code (once the lights set, the code is stored, even though the lights extinguish themselves) and possibly live wheel sensor data is necessary. lots have had the same issue, and its turned out to be different problems.

Okay, was hoping not to spend too much money on this either because i´ve already spent more on parts than what i paid for the car.

time to quit spending money and start diagnosing correctly. INPA and PASOFT (BMW scanner 1.4) can be gotten for around $30 with with the cable, they require a laptop platform to run them on, theres a few handhelds that are BMW specific (creator, foxwell, schwaben) cost more that the first 2, but allow you to get at the pesky codes. all will pay for themselves with one trip to a shop to get the codes read, and youll always have them for future issues.
