E21 Steering Gear: buy new or rebuilt?

The steering gear of my 1976 Euro E21 320 is showing some slack. Took it out, and, in addition to the bushings, the arm lost the chrome plating. So, rebuilding my steering gear will be too expensive.
I have seen new steering gears for $500 - $600. Expensive.
I have also seen rebuilt units for around $150 - $180.
Has anyone had any experience with the rebuilt ones? Any suggestions where to buy a reliable one?

    Thank you!

    Cool

I have been running for years Cardone 24-2505,3yr/36K mile warranty, they seem to be available then no where to be found, they are very reasonably priced when they are available. As too new or rebuilt, that depends on your budget and what you are willing to spend.
