Sunroof wont budge

Hey all,

I am new to this forum but often use it as a reference for my car. I have been experiencing this issue for quite some time now, where my sunroof will not open. It appears to not be closed fully(no leaks) but will not operate what so ever. I have tried the re initializing sequence and with no luck it will not budge. I have gone as far as taking the sunroof motor out and cleaning the motor that didn't help either. I have tried to hand crank it and it will not budge no mater how much i try and move it. I had no problems at all then all the sudden it stopped working. I did have to replace my VVT sensor/motor and the car's battery was unplugged for some time... could that have anything to do with it? Sorry for the long post just wanted to be thorough so I'm not wasting anyone's time. Please if you have any input Id love to hear it.

If it won't crank by hand then the cable drives are probably no longer in their tracks. You can replace the drive assemblies, but you have to remove the sunroof frame to do it.
