I have a 2001 325ci and my AC/Heater will work intermittently, turns on and off when it wants. Generally when it turns on it stays on, for the most part. I removed the glove to get to the resistor and found the wiring harness that connects to the resistor looked a little frayed in 1 of the female slots. I believe this is the issue but need to know, should I replace just the wires or the wires and the resistor. I'm also not 100% sure this is what's causing the issue. Additionally, before it went out the AC never blew that hard and am wondering if this is related or if the blower is going out as well.
Welcome to the Forum!
Sounds like you have 2 issues:
1) The HVAC Fan is intermittent.
2) When the fan is working, the A/C isn't cold.
So for the first, it is typically the Final Stage Resistor (FSR). As the second, that will typically be a leak as the E-46 uses very little R-134a, and even losing a little bit is noticeable.
