Dumb question of the day. Cam/cylinder position sensor are available all over. How are you supposed to put it in the plug wire with out destroying one of the ends. I am unable to find any ignition wire with sensor except in complete wire sets.

Don't use anything but BMW OEM sensors, especially, the CIS (cylinder identification sensor). You may be able to unscrew the distributor connection from wire. See if you can identify the brand of distributor connections your set uses and look at mfr site for more info. Otherwise, you might be able to cut the dist connection off and buy another crimp-on connector and boot.
I have OEM and Magnacor sets of ignition wires. You use to be able to buy ignition kits and make your own.

You can buy wire and crimp-on ends from NAPA, but it looks like the Magnecor ends can be replaced. Their ends can be purchased separately so they may be threaded on. Try contacting Magnecor if you cannot replace the ends yourself send in wires with sensors and have them do it. https://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/HowtoOrder.htm
Check with shogun, I think he has a detailed DIY on his site.
