Do you agree and think BMW is "scamming" the consumer?

The law does NOT determine "right" from "wrong". They are unrelated.

If you put cheap parts on your car, you will soon have a cheap parts car.

I do watch Nathan's videos, but do so with some skepticism. He does, in my view, cut a lot of corners, and several of his repairs (head gaskets) don't seem to get fixed the first. time. He also is fixing BMW's almost exclusively to generate content for his channel. Aside from one or two cars, he doesn't seem to be repairing cars for the long-term as he sells many shortly after repairing. Having said all that, he did effectively demonstrate how to open a hood if the cable is broken, and I used his video for this purpose.

I do share his displeasure with modern BMW's - anything newer than E39, E46, & E53 (not that those cars are without pblms), and I probably won't own a newer BMW unless I get a heck of deal on a lease and only maybe then...I think owning a modern BMW after warranty expired would be disaster financially, in part because of: the high price of parts and service, limited to no maintenance in the warranty period, as well as BMW making it difficult for the DIY'er requiring ISTA, etc. I also don't care for the turbo 4 engine they are using now.

BMW is profit-seeking business and protecting profits for the parent company and their dealer network comes with the territory.
