    brake light circuit switch... again

Tired of replacing this every few years, thought i had seen a write up that the warning that pops up and blinks constantly can be shut off by jumpering the connector to complete the circuit or cutting one of the 4 wires that leads to the connector, i know the brake lights work and also aware that this switch shuts off the cruise control and it is working fine . I searched but couldn't find the thread describing the override. My version is the 4 wire not 2. Thanks again

LOL!!! I thought the later ‘switches’ were three wire.
Is your support bracket bent slightly?
What brand of switch did you use?

It's 4. Was hoping flyfish would come in on this one, i think one wire can be cut to disable the annoying flashing on the computer, but cant recall or find in search.

I am really surprised that you guys are still cutting wires.

My car did not come with check control, but if it did, I would spend perhaps three minutes studying the BMW ETM to find what contact to slide out of connector X1070 – and then do that.

I don't have the crucial resources. Why not DIY and post a link or vid?

The smaller spring contacts for the light sensor sb on the right. They are marked pin 3 and 4 and are on the curved portion of the connector.

You should be able to remove the car connector and then the pins and short them as a test if this bypass concept works before you cut anything.

The concept is when the brake pedal is not pressed, the switch button is pressed in and the two sets of spring contacts are retracted. Then is you press the brake the switch plunger extends out, allowing the contacts to conduct electricity, one to the lights and one to the sensor. You are thus assuming the Cruise control the Clutch safety shift and anything else does not relies on the sensor side.
