As the title says looking for opinions for some new front struts. Vehicle is a 99 528it with a factory sport suspension and self leveling in the back. Do people favor the bilstein or koni for this or is it more of a brand loyal kind of thing? Looking to do this in the next week or two so any information would be appreciated? Thanks Eric
Bilsteins are cheaper but don’t work particularly well on E39’s— they’re known for being rather harsh in this chassis. I had Konis in my 540it and they rode quite well, so that’s my recommendation.

OEM, Sachs =aluminum housing. All the rest use steel=rust & weight.

+2 for Koni Yellows. Pretty tried and true setup.

I think shock brand VS shock brand has been debated over and over again in this forum one too many times...
