    battery guys in here please

hello , car has to be jumped off after sitting a lot for the past few years (new battery 2017). i put a charger on it and while on the charger i am showing 13 volts but when the charger "full charge" i removed the battery and voltage is 10.5 volts. what i can tell after research is possible battery is sulfated? or a dead cell from sitting a lot even when a not so old battery

    thoughts???

Sounds like the battery has a shorted cell. So 5 are charged fine but there is one that is dead. A lot of 'sealed' batteries just have some very sticky tape placed over the top of the cells. (If you rub your finger or a coin over the tape, it will show up the outline of the cell caps.). If you can remove the cell caps, use a hydrometer to check the SG of the acid in each pot. It should be 1.265. Which is a pretty useful number because a fully charged battery will have very close to 12.65 volts
