Are all 328 have ZF transmission. Just want to verify. Thanks.
Yes…specifically the S5D320Z as I recall.
My 1997 328 ZF 5-speed was MT-1 fill.

Early e46 5speeds are the same too
To answer your question, no not all 328i come with the zf trans. Check your vin number and go to realoem.com
The gm trans is common

Were you asking about the 5spd or auto?

Good question. The five speed auto in the E36M3 is said to be a ZF/GM auto box also.
IF you are asking about the 5-speed manual
The E36 318/325 got the Getrag 5-Speed.
There is a ZF S5D310Z rated for 310Nm fit to the 1995M3 thru 09/95 and possibly the E34s listed below.
The successor ZF S5D320Z was rated for 320Nm and fit to the 328 and 1996+M3, in addition to some of the others listed below.

1992–1999 E36 M3
2001–2006 E46 325xi

Hey , so I’m looking at a S5320Z THCG from a 2003 330xi. Is that a ZF trans that will fit into my 1997 328? Also looking at a 2000 z3m which , from your post , should also be a 320Z . Looked all over internet just wanted to confirm before I buy
Not sure AWD trans will work. At least later 6 speed AWD trans differ from the RWD versions. The 2000 Z3M trans should fit your E36 328i.
