Hi Folks, I have an interesting situation that I have not been able to find using the search tool in this forum.
I own a 1993 E30 325i - Last year of the Vert. It has low miles (64K) and is in great overall condition. I have owned it for three years and drive it very sparingly. When bringing it out of hibernation recently, I noticed the following engine behavior:
Upon cold start, the engine does not hold up "higher revs" but instead immediately goes back down to 1000 RPM or so. It fires right up, and runs cleanly, it just doesn't do what typical Fuel Injection engines do when starting cold... which is to hold a little higher engine speed until temperature starts going up.
Now... I don't really remember if this was always like this, and I am inclined to believe so. I may be getting old (I am a little), or just have too many different toys and forget which one is supposed to run which way. So, for a sanity check: Can you guys tell me if this is normal?
Thanks in advance!
Any hints guys? Is this normal behavior?
I think they idle normal even when cold.
No e30s again.
Never hurts to give the ICV a good cleaning.
